Ever stumble across a recipe that appears too good to be true? Well just a couple of weeks ago I was out grabbing a quick lunch with the kiddos. Much to my dismay I learned that our favorite fast food restaurant was saying goodbye to their famous cole slaw and removing it from the menu. Soon I learned they were generous enough to be handing out copies of the recipe so I could make the very delight at home. Armed with the ingredients list, I was determined to whip up a batch of cole slaw at home.
This stuff is good y’all! It is just like the restaurant creates with a rich and creamy texture.
Oh My! The most delicious cole slaw ever!

- 4 teaspoons vinegar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 20 oz fine shredded cabbage
- 1/2 finally chopped carrots
- Whisk vinegar, sugar, mustard, and salt together until sugar is dissolved.
- Add mayonnaise and whisk together.
- Add cabbage and carrots.
- Mix together.
- Refrigerate for 2 hours and serve.
My first batch followed the original recipe exactly. While the flavor was perfect, there are a lot of creamy sauce left over. With the following batch, I doubled the amount of cabbage and carrots while leaving the other ingredients the same. The final recipe as posted here is perfect. Plenty of sauce to create a perfect batch of cole slaw.
