Back to School Sign
Seriously!!! What happened to summer. It feels like we were just waiting for the end of the school year and bam…we are heading back to school. It doesn’t help that my kids left a state that finished school in mid-June and moved to a new state that starts early August. This is probably the shortest summer vacation for them ever. I have to admit that moving to a new state, setting in, and finding a new school for my kids has been quite a challenge. In the whole process, resources similar to School Guides catchment map were extremely helpful. And to be entirely honest, we are all ready. The kids are ready to start their new schools and meet new friends. And me…I like the routine of the school year.
Several years back my kiddos started making homemade signs for the first day of school. They put the year and grade while creating a fun drawing based on whatever inspires them at the moment. Normally the inspiration comes from their current sports, friends, or activities. Then Pinterest happened and I seriously feel like I need to up my game. Everywhere I look are these adorable homemade signs that can be used over and over each year. My friend Janine at Confessions of a Mommyaholic comes to the rescue with this fun project that is super easy to make. Even the kids can help or as the case in my house, they can make their own.
Here are some fun facts about Janine!
If you could join any past or current music group which would you want to join?
The Beatles! Seriously, they will always be the band to aspire to be.
If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?
I would love to learn how to paint or draw better. See I married an artist and I am always in awe at his skills where this is concerned and wish I could have a way to learn this skill even though I know you can’t.
And, most importantly, head on over to Confessions of a Mommyaholic to check out Janine’s back to school sign. Click Here
Please share with me what traditions you have created for the first day of school. Special breakfast, make signs, pictures, etc. I would love to hear all about your traditions.
