Halloween Decor
It is almost Halloween and that means it is time for Halloween Decor. I mean really…where has the year gone! But to be entirely honest…I love Halloween. Not only does it mean I can start looking for my costume (my friend has already got her Aaliyah costume ready!), but it’s also the highlight of fall and the beginning of the holiday seasons. For the next several months, our home decor will quickly rotate from Fall to Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas. Our regular home decor won’t appear again till well after the new year! So…let the holiday decorating begin. Now we’re not going to go over the top, although I did consider getting printed glass splashbacks for the kitchen… how cool would they have looked with a spooky print on them?
I have to admit that I have a weakness for pillows. Yes…the kind of weakness that is often joked about in our house. How many times have I heard, “How many pillows do we really need on the bed?” OR “Is that a new pillow?” OR “Where is that one gonna go?” It might be kind of funny to everyone else but my obsession is real! I can’t pass the pillow aisle in a home decor shop without at least taking a look. And…I might even be a little embarrassed if someone spotted my stash of pillows stored off season in the basement. Seriously…pillows just may be the cheapest and easiest way to transform a space. So the holidays are no exception. I’ve also been obsessing over artwork too. I was looking at some gorgeous Halloween themed tapestries the other day and I have to admit, I fell in love. If I bought one I’d probably keep it up all year round! I just love Halloween!
You can, of course, choose to go the other way entirely. I have a friend who, every year, themes their home for Halloween around a scary film or series. Last year she chose to create the Milk bar in a clockwork orange to really set that unnerving spooky mood, and it looked amazing. This method costs a lot more, admittedly, but it can really pay off for a wow factor.
I got smart a couple of years ago and learned to only by the pillow covers. This is a benefit for a number of different reasons: 1) the covers are cheaper than buying a whole pillow 2) I bought nice pillow forms from the local craft store and get to use them over and over again 3) the covers are much easier to store and take up less space.
The other day I was looking on line for new Halloween pillow covers because why not. 🙂 Well I found so many great pillow covers for Halloween that I decided to share my finds with you! In addition to great pillow covers, I also found some fun Halloween decor that I think my kiddos would love. I think numbers 9 and 10 just might be my favorite!
